Born
out of founder and CEO, Alison Rightford’s desire to
create, market and manage 5-star spas throughout Africa,
the Sanctuary Group is fast becoming the leader in spa
consultancy throughout Africa.
The Sanctuary Group has a portfolio of 14 spas including
Urban Sanctuary (formerly The Image Institute), a
well-established Day Spa in Newlands, Cape Town, The
Sanctuary Spa at The Twelve Apostles Hotel, Camps Bay, Cape
Town, The Spa at The Saxon Hotel and The Sanctuary Spa
Pemba and The Sanctuary Spa Indigo Bay in Mozambique.
The portfolio of The Sanctuary Group also includes the
outsourced management of spas:
The Sanctuary Spa at The Twelve Apostles Hotel: After being accredited as a Leading
Spa of the World By Leading Hotels of the World for 3 consecutive years, Sanctuary
at The Twelve Apostles does not need to qualify again this year. It is due to our
constant, high standards that we automatically qualify.
The
Sanctuary Spa Pemba and The
Sanctuary Spa Indigo Bay
in Mozambique are the Sanctuary Group’s first foray into
other territories, with Pemba scheduled for a May 2007
opening and Indigo Bay on the island of Bazaruto, set
to open its doors in early 2008.
We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our portfolio: The Sanctuary at Tswalu Kalahari Reserve in the Northern Cape, South Africa. Tswalu’s overall goal is "to restore the Kalahari to itself" and it is within this milieu that the internationally-experienced therapists of The Sanctuary at Tswalu will “restore guests to themselves.” This philosophy is followed by employing Eastern therapies and Western technology with locally-produced fynbos body range, Moya and internationally-renowned product house Elemis.
